Meet at the green outside St George's Church, Osborne Road, leaving at 12 mid-day
Route includes Osborne Road, Acorn Road, St George's Terrace, Thornleigh Road, Forsyth Road Bridge and finishes in the West Jesmond Primary School grounds.

With Town Crier, Music Band, banners, drummers, Stilt Walker and more.

The Orchard is located in the far North West corner of the cemetery. Alternative location available in case of bad weather – you will be redirected from the Orchard, if necessary!

Swing Dance Workshop and Social Dance
7:00 – 11:00pm
Beginners lesson at 7:00pm, to introduce Lindy Hop, followed by social dance (about 8:30pm).
Free and open to all ages.
Lindy Hop is fun, sociable and great exercise, danced mainly to the swing music of the 1920’s – 1950’s. No previous dance experience or partner required.

Quick Comics Workshops
11:00am – 1:00pm for 7-11 year olds
2:00 – 4:00pm for 12-18 year olds
Join local comic book artist Jack Fallows and writer Daniel Clifford as they take you on a wild ride through comic book creation.
In just 2 hours you’ll design your own cool characters, write a comic book script, and draw your own full length story.
You don’t have to be a great artist or know anything about comics to enjoy this workshop …. and it’s all FREE!

Take your pick from three different free taster sessions provided by students from Northumbria University Dance Society, or come to all three!
Latin (1:00pm, particularly suitable for over 50’s), Breakdance (2:00pm, particularly suitable for teenagers), Belly Dance (3:00pm, suitable for anyone!) – followed by a short performance at the end of the day (c. 4:00pm), where attendees show off what they have learned.

The Durham Scratch Choir is open to all comers, so just turn up at the rehearsal and take part in the performance! Performance open to all.

“Heaven beneath our Feet” is a new work about the struggles for land for the poor in the time of the English Civil War, written by the choir’s Musical Director, Andy Jackson.
