The "Faces of Jesmond" Photographic Competition - Rules

We would like you to take a photograph which shows why Jesmond is a great place to live. The precise subject of your photograph is up to you. It could be of people, a place or an event. Hand your print in to Jesmond Library along with the entry form by 30 September 2008.

Rules :

- · Your photographs can be portrait, documentary, journalistic, sporting, staged, humorous, serious, or anything else that your imagination and creativity can come up with.
- No professional photographers may enter this competition.
- · The judges will be paying attention to basic photographic technique, but more importantly they will be looking for images which capture a sense of our community.
- Newcastle City Council and Jesmond Community Forum may use your photograph, free of charge, for publicity purposes, including an exhibition and/or a calendar.
- The photograph can be black and white or colour but must be in the form of a print. Prints must be no more than 7 inches by 5 inches in size. Sorry but we cannot accept digital media.
- The photograph must be taken in the Jesmond area of Newcastle. Entrants must also live or work in Jesmond.
- You may submit up to 5 entries but please submit a separate entry form for each one.
- Please write the title of your entry, your name, address and contact details on the back of your print.
- There will be 2 categories, one for entrants aged 16 and under, and one for those aged over 16.
- We cannot return your photographs.
- The judges' decision is final.
- By entering the competition you and any person shown in your photograph must agree to these rules.
- You are responsible for obtaining the consent of any recognisable person shown in your photograph, including the parent or guardian of any child shown.

The “Faces of Jesmond” Photographic Competition is organised by Jesmond Community Forum and Newcastle City Council. If you have any queries, leave them at Jesmond Library, and one of the organisers will contact you.
